ONE:
Past PAYNE, to BARCLAY, leg now pinned beneath a piece of the burning DEBRIS.
BARCLAY is panicking.
1. BARCLAY: Ahh m-my leg—
TWO:
PAYNE turns, catches sight of the MAP CASE, where it has rolled near the open cabin door, still burning.
2. BARCLAY/off: —help me—
THREE:
PAYNE moves towards where the CASE is burning in the doorway.
SABRE is leaping over burning furniture to reach BARCLAY.
3. BARCLAY: —please sir n-not like this!!
4. PAYNE: Sorry, friend Barclay…
FOUR:
PAYNE uses his sword to KNOCK the MAP CASE out of the burning room, following it.
5. PAYNE: …but you were compensated for such an eventuality!
I still think the map is not in the case.
I don’t even think it’s on the ship.
The map may still be in the case, but Lady Sabre’s made a copy of it.
I doubt that the map is in the case.
If it was Lady Sabre wouldn’t be concerned about Barclay.
She might have been concerned if it had been one of her crew but the map would be more important than a minion of Payne.
I think the good Lady is either about to have a new crewmate, or Payne is about to have a minion who owes a debt to his enemies…
Same difference, possibly…
