X-Post from Kickstarter – The Launch Party Update (or So Close You Can Taste It)on March 12, 2014 at 1:57 pm
We come to the end of our long silence, with apologies for the same.
These past several weeks have been a waiting game, final checks on all the bells and whistles, negotiating the last remaining problems and outstanding issues on those things that were not The Books, but were rather everything else – patches, triptychs, keychains, paper dolls, and all the rest.
According to the printer, the books will arrive some time next week. Our first priority will be a quality and quantity check, and then we’ll move forward with the personalizations, inscriptions, remarquing, etc, with the goal of beginning to ship out the books to you in April.
COUNTDOWN TO LAUNCH
We’ll be holding a launch party at Bridge City Comics in Portland, Oregon, on April 5th, from 5pm until 8pm. “We,” in this instance, means Rick, Eric, and myself (Greg) — we’ll all be on hand at the store. If you are a backer and want to pick up your book in person, maybe hang out and chat for a while or simply point and stare, you are cordially — even eagerly — invited to come and do so.
So, launch party, Bridge City Comics, April 5th, 5 to 8 pm. We would love to meet you, we would love to hand you your books in person, and we think it’ll be a heck of a lot of fun.
(As an aside, if you do plan on attending the event AND are a backer who wants to pick up your books, please send us a message via Kickstarter so we’ll have an idea of how many to bring.)
Depending on our final inventory count, and presuming that we’ve enough extra to justify it, we may have additional copies for sale, prices TBD.
Rick, Eric, and I will be at Planet Comicon this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Well, Eric won’t be there Sunday, but Rick and I will. We will not have books to sell, but we should have our first bounds on display if you want to take a look at them in person.
March 28th, 29th, and 30th is Emerald City Comicon, and Rick and I will both be attending. Again, we’ll have first bounds on display, but at this point I do not think we will have copies for sale.
And now… time to finishing dotting ‘i’s and crossing ‘t’s.
