ONE:
On GISELLE and DRUM. DRUM is very calm, raising his rifle.
1. GISELLE/singing: …so trust not a captain who promises such…
2. GISELLE/singing: …a king or a crown who lusts for so much—
TWO:
GISELLE is looking up at DRUM again. He is rapidly becoming the perfect man.
DRUM is watching the flyer approaching. He is moving the RIFLE, to bring it to his shoulder.
3. DRUM: Forgive me.
4. DRUM: This will be loud.
THREE:
DRUM has his RIFLE at his shoulder. Calm. Steady.
NO COPY.
FOUR:
CU of DRUM’S FINGER, pulling the trigger.
5. SFX: KRAK
I just looked up “Badass” in the encyclopedia. There was a picture of Drum there. 😀
P.S. I am now in love with Giselle.
In my copy of the encyclopedia there was a note saying “we wanted to use a picture of Drum here, but when we asked his permission all he did was stare at us, arms folded, with a slight smile on his face. It made us nervous…”
Drum’s coolness under fire makes a Zen archer look like he’s suffering from ADD.
Yeah. Drum’s bad ass all right. He and Maliya should stare down.
I like that Drum used the strap to steady his arm. Not a lot of people know that you can use them in that manner.
As bad assed as I thought he would be…
But I am the only one shipping for Drum and Sabre? I even think that Giselle would be a much better fit for Drake.
I don’t see that happening here Mr. Rucka has a perfect plan it will be unbelievable to do that .
Why do you think that is unbelievable?
To me, the holiday page sums up the strengths of Drum/Sabre quite nicely. Both of them get the joke and both can enjoy a moment. Drake doesn’t. There’s more emotional resonance between Drum and Sabre. Do you ever see Drake not being mystified by Sabre?
It’ll be Drake/Sabre because she won’t be able to resist the challenge
I can see the challenge having appeal, but I don’t see any staying power after the conquest.
This is a great page for both Drum and Gisselle but the highlight for me is the moving crosshair. Seeing Drum’s aim carry on behind him is something I’ve never seen before (if it’s even been done before) and is really, really clever.
Someone here named Corey asked if it would be the pilot or the gunner. A through on through head shot means both. Though, looking at the current angle of attack of the plane it may go propeller, head (front man), heart (rear flyer).
Suggestion on your MK X Webley: Move the cylinder forward and make that all part of the magazine well. Think inverted Gatling loading. Though a straight Mauser broomhandle style would work much better.
Oooh, I like this – the MK XI Webley!
Hmm, options
1 – forehead center
2 – forehead right
3 – forehead left
4 – left eye
5 – right eye
6 – nose
7 – mouth – lose a tooth or three
8 – left cheek
9 – right cheek
10 – lower jaw
11 – extra dramatic option where it knicks the gunner and ….
Note these are pushers, propeller in the rear to avoid hand crank gatling to prop synchro issues. The nose art does make it a little confusing.
In any case this will be an end of the smile.
(place bets?)
Interesting. If you’d bumped it to twelve or lowered it to ten, it’d have been a critical hit table…
Also, there’s none of the above. *cackles*
What’s actually gonna happen is, Drum misses, the plane blows up the ship, and everyone dies and the comic is over.
1) Love Giselle. Hope she doesn’t get her heart broken in the typical Western “Guy rides off into the sunset, having already forgotten the woman ever existed” sense.
2) Love Drum. “Forgive me. This will be loud.” Soooo polite! 😀
Bullet through gunner’s head, pilots chest and shatters prop. Where’s the second flyer?
