I'll admit that none of my votes (Jennings Micawber, Arthur Scroope, Giroux, Belbog Stanko, Bodeen Meyers) were winners. But I'm happy that you guys were able to get involved. I'm always the advocate for involving readers as much as possible, and Rick and Greg have been amazingly open to such things.

I was about to spoil some things, but let me just say I'll answer the rest of your question later!

Honestly, they began life as simply Five Gunmen that Payne Had At His Disposal. The community reaction was such that we began talking about how we might use them in the future, and then Eric hit on the idea of letting you guys name them.

Now that they're named, they have become Characters, and yes, that's your collective fault. While I confess that one or two of my personal favorite names didn't win, the ones that were settled on are all strong, and they do, in fact, all lend to personalities, and suggest their own stories.

Essentially, you guys just gave me outlines for each character, just as much as Rick did with the initial art.

(Also...now that they're named? I'm less-inclined to just kill 'em off ;) )

I have a kind of two part question. This was quite a unique (and really fun) way of getting the characters their names, did it go as expected...I mean, are you (Greg, Rick, Eric) happy with the results? Or was there a name or two you just went "Holy crap, this was a bad idea!" ?

Also, do you think the names will effect the character's personalities and histories? In particular Jeremiah's character names (which are fantastic, btw). Names always drum up a particular image of how someone is/should be. Wendell is a nerd, Jack is an action hero. Of will this not effect what you had planned for them at all?

Thanks!
