Screen 1
ONE:
Angle, low, past DRAKE, pinned by the OCTOPION.
PAYNE is approaching, walking beneath the clockwork, wearing the harness. He’s grinning.
1. PAYNE: If it makes you feel any better, Marshal…
TWO:
On PAYNE, slight smile. He’s still very smooth, very pleasant.
2. PAYNE: …it’s not the key that’s worth dying for.
3. PAYNE: It’s what it opens.
THREE:
Angle, DRAKE trapped, but still somehow maintaining that taciturn nature. Looking up at PAYNE.
4. DRAKE: Don’t imagine you’re looking to enlighten me, then?
Screen 2
ONE:
Almost DRAKE POV, looking up at PAYNE, the OCTOPOID looming behind them, blocking the view of skies.
PAYNE is smiling gently.
1. PAYNE: Enlightenment isn’t mine to give, Marshal.
2. PAYNE: For that, you must look to the Makers.
TWO:
Stet.
PAYNE is more somber, about to pull down one of the LEVERS on the harness.
3. PAYNE: You’ll be seeing them soon enough.
THREE:
PAYNE pulls the LEVER.
NO COPY.
FOUR:
Stet, PAYNE twisting his head, in surprise.
4. SFX: CHAKOW CHAKOW
Enter: The Pegasus?!
You know what? I don’t even care if I’m wrong. I’m just glad this comic gave me an excuse to say “Enter: The Pegasus.” Awesome.
Oh God… that sentence… so much win I love it.
What a good clif hanger 🙂
No doubt. They manage to do one every release! Let’s go… Thursday!
I am wondering what goes CHAKOW CHAKOW
What, no maniacal laugh?
I thought that might be over the top 😉
Just caught up with chapter 3 and 4.
Very well done Greg and Rick the art is B-E-A Utiful.
Did you ever decide on what you were going to do for a print collection?
We’re holding off until Chapter Five is completed before trying to assemble the final page count. Once we’ve got a firm idea of how big the trade will be, we’ll start seriously discussing the options for editions and distribution.
