SCREEN 1
ONE:
Angle, DRAKE moving inside, firing and hitting the GUNMAN who’s been hiding within. We can see there’s a DEAD MAN on the floor in here – the unfortunate Sheriff of Tumbledown.
1. SFX: krak krak
2. GUNMAN: ghHh
TWO:
Outside, DRUM has freed his long gun, shooting, backing to the door, as SHOTS smack into the doorframe and wall.
3. DRUM: I count FIVE.
4. SFX: BLAMM
5. DRUM: FOUR.
THREE:
Inside the office, DRUM and DRAKE on either side of the doorframe, in cover, talking to each other.
JOHNS lays just outside the doorway.
6. DRUM: The Smoke?
7. DRAKE: I expect.
SCREEN 2
ONE:
Stet, DRAKE and DRUM each leaning back as more shots smack the wood, sending splinters flying around them.
1. SFX: KRAK KRAK KRAK KRAK KRAK KRAK KRAK
TWO:
Stet, both as they were in previous Screen, Panel 3.
1. DRUM: They’re very insistent.
2. DRAKE: Well, he’s an unforgiving employer, or so I hear.
THREE:
Reverse, as the back door bursts open, another GUNMAN barging in, STEAM-ACTION REPEATING SHOTGUN in hand.
3. SFX: K-RAK
4. GUNMAN: HA!
FOUR:
Past the GUNMAN as DRAKE and DRUM shoot him with almost casual disdain.
5. SFX: krak
6. SFX: BLAMM
7. GUNMAN: nHHNn
unfortunate sod, bursting through the back door like that, face to face with two deadly gunman. Mad dogs and Englishmen.
“I count five.” BLAM! “Four” love it.
It’s a testament to the quality of Rick’s storytelling that we also know which of the five got that bullet.
There is nothing I don’t love about this. The action, the humor, the gun designs. The faucet style turn wheel on the last gunman’s weapon is very interesting, what’s its purpose?
Hi, James. The gun is steam powered, and that’s a release valve. If the gun builds too much pressure you can use that to bleed the line and reduce pressure.

The Smoke bushwacked the wrong Marshal and Tracker. Love the obviously strong and reliable working relationship between Drake and Drum. My son pointed out that Lady Sabre also counted “five” then “four.”
Very cool.
Hope Elmer isn’t dead. Maybe the handcuffs deflected some of the force of the blast and it all looks worse than it was. I’d like to more about that talky rogue.
Can’t wait to see more.
